The subject of the study is the modeling of the kinetics of defects in alloys of cubic and hexagonal symmetry under irradiation and after thermomechanical processing. The purpose of the study is to investigate the effect of thermomechanical processing and irradiation on functional properties of relevant metals and alloys. Research methods:multi-scale modeling of the defective structure of structural metals; X-ray examination; methods of mechanical tests; method of scanning and transmission electron microscopy; method of small-angle neutron scattering; optical microscopy dilatometry. Objectives of the study: to identify the most effective means of reducing the yield strength of nuclear reactor nuclear reactor vessels; to find patterns of texture formation and changes in damage parameters of titanium sheets, Mg-5%Li alloy sheets and Inconel 718 superalloy; to establish correlations between texture parameters and service properties of actual alloys; to investigate the influence of alloying elements and thermomechanical processing on the service properties of medium carbon steels. Theoretical and practical results: a computer code has been created that allows simulation of processes in reactor materials; three regimes of flux dependence of the average size and number density of vacancy clusters and clusters of internodes in pure iron were found; the characteristics of Mg-5% Li single crystals were determined; it was found to be the most effective means of reducing the radiation-induced increase in the yield strength of nuclear reactor vessels; the mechanism of influence on the activation energy of cementite formation in medium carbon steels 42SiCr and 42SiCr + Cu was found. Novelty: for the first time, the texture and properties of the Inconel 718 alloy, which can be used in the production of parts by the method of select of selective laser melting,were investigated.
