Research methods: theoretical analysis of the processes of functioning of ecosystems of urban green spaces, using methods of fuzzy set theory, reliability theory, use of Harrington's desirability function, modelling of plane water flows and erosion based on the RUSLE model, etc. using methods of geospatial analysis, cartographic research method, geoinformation modelling. A set of indicators of the effectiveness of ecosystems' provision of various types of services is proposed, which also includes integral indicators. A methodology and technology for assessing ecosystem services have been developed that meet the following requirements: a) are suitable for processing information that is spatially distributed; b) are focused on the availability of uncertain and often limited data (for this purpose, fuzzy set methods are used); c) the technology is available for use by specialists of design and other institutions that may be limited in data, technology and specialists. The territorial units by which it is advisable to assess ecosystem services have been identified (the hypothesis of a "floating territorial assessment unit" has been implemented: a certain type of ecosystem service has its territorial assessment and mapping units), and the methodology for identifying and mapping landscape territorial structures of different types and the computer technology for its implementation have been adapted. A set of variables (attributes, characteristics) of urban green spaces necessary for assessing ecosystem services, resilience of these areas to anthropogenic pressures, forecasting their possible changes and environmental risks is substantiated.
