Work objective –development and substantiation of ecological and dosimetric models for radiation doses reconstruction for population of Varaskyi, Zvyagelskyi and Chernihivskyi districts. Research methods – mathematical modeling, computer programming, statistical data processing. The analysis and revision of information on volume and types of radioecological and dosimetric monitoring in the settlements of Varaskyi, Zvyagelskyi and Chernihivskyi districts, which is in the databases of central ecological and dosimetric register of the radiological protection laboratory of NRCRM was carried out. Ecological and dosimetric models for reconstruction of individualized annual effective doses of external and internal exposure were developed, scientifically substantiated and parameterized, as well as thyroid absorbed doses in 1986 for residents of studied areas. Procedures for model parameters estimating depending on soil characteristics in the settlement have been created. Computer algorithms were developed and a test calculation of effective radiation doses was performed for representatives of different age groups in 116 settlements from Varaskyi district, 293 settlements from Zvyagelskyi (Novograd-Volynskyi) district and 249 settlements from Chernihivskyi district, where persons registered in the SRU live. The average radiation doses accumulated by adult residents over the 37 years after the accident lie in the intervals: 11.3–11.8 mSv (Varaskyi district), 0.91–7.0 mSv (Zvyagelskyi district) and 0.91–5.2 mSv (Chernihivskyi district). A methodology for estimating of exposure doses for Ukrainian population in the event of a radioactive release as a result of military actions in the early, middle and late phases of such an accident has been developed.
