A new type of fused carbene complexes – ylide-carbene complexes of metals (lithium and copper(I)), approaches to the synthesis of new types of carbene complexes of transition metals. The obtained compounds are intended for the creation of highly effective catalysts of organic reactions and new biologically active compounds. The purpose of the work is to study the generation of new highly electron-donating fused stable carbenes, which include, in particular, ylide-carbenes, development of approaches to the synthesis of new types of carbene complexes of transition metals. Research methods are synthetic, spectral (NMR spectroscopy), analytical (chromatographic, elemental analysis), computational (quantum chemical research). Results of study. By deprotonation of 1,3-dibenzylbenzimidazolium salts with strong bases - potassium tert-butoxide and butyllithium - new types of fused carbene complexes - derivatives of ylide-carbenes and metals - lithium and copper(I) - were synthesized. It was established by the DFT method that the complexes have bicenter bonds of ylide and carbene centers with metal atoms. According to electronic indices and philicity, ylide-carbenes are superbasic and supernucleophilic reagents but inferior to mononuclear compounds of the imidazole series. Approaches to the synthesis of carbene and biscarbene complexes of copper(I) and silver have been developed, the peculiarity of which is the in situ process with the participation of copper and silver halides.
