The aim: development of approaches to the psychological support of a medical staff of oncological facilities by assessing their psychoemotional status and resilience in the war conditions. Research methods: psychodiagnostic, socio-demographic, statistical-mathematical. Theoretical and practical results: the work studies the state of mental traumatization of the medical workers of State Organization “Grigoriev Institute for Medical Radiology and Oncology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine” by assessing their psycho-emotional status with time for the period of 2022–2023. The author(s) found a significant decrease in the level of emotional distress by 23,0% as well as a significant decrease in the frequency of occurrence of mental and physical problems, namely, the frequency of anxiety (54,0% vs. 78,0% in 2022), fears (24,0% vs. 58,0%), depressive symptoms (12,0% vs. 27,0%), sleep disorders (27,0% vs. 61,0%), and eating disorders (7,0% vs. 30,0%). The paper provides an assessment of the level of stress resistance of the medical workers of according to the parameter of psychological resilience which was moderate in 66,0% and high in 33,0% of the workers. Novelty: the work is the first to study characteristic features of the structure of coping strategies used by the medical staff of a cancer care institution while working under the martial law. The author(s) found that the medical staff used constructive stress-relieving behaviors “avoidance-oriented coping” (45,0%) and “problem-oriented coping” (26,0%) most often; non-constructive “emotion-oriented coping” was used by only 6,0% of the medical workers. A high constructiveness index was obtained in 82,0% of the staff, indicating the successful use of coping strategies for further life and work performance.
