The hardware part of the MSIP channels was developed and manufactured. Laboratory calibration and field experiments were carried out with polarimetric channels of the model of the polarimeter MSIP. The possibility of using the results of orbital photopolarimetric measurements to study the properties of aerosols in the Earth's stratosphere was analyzed. The possibilities of using the GRASP algorithm to determine aerosol characteristics in test experiments with ScanPol and MSIP are considered. Based on the results of numerical modeling according to the Lorenz-Mi theory and the numerical solution of the vector equation of radiation transfer, the possibility of determining the optical characteristics of the background stratospheric aerosol as part of the implementation of the Aerosol-UA project was studied and the errors were estimated. Calculations of the intensity and polarization of radiation scattered by media of different optical thickness, which consist of aerosols of different sizes and refractive indices, were carried out. A complex for testing optical devices has been developed and manufactured. Spectral characteristics of the sphere with different light sources were evaluated and ways of further improvement of the complex were determined. Experimental samples of two optical channels of 555 nm and 410 nm of the multispectral imager-polarimeter of the MSIP using radiation receivers, which will be used in the next stage of development for space basing, were developed, calibrated and tested. The method of studying stratospheric aerosol in the Earth's atmosphere in the infrared range of the spectrum is theoretically substantiated, and technical solutions for the development of photometric and polarimetric equipment for carrying out measurements on a CubSat satellite are proposed.
