Registration Date 08-01-2024 Organization State Research Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine popup.description2 Preventing children from committing criminal and administrative offenses, identifying the reasons and conditions that contribute to this, as well as taking measures to eliminate them, are within the competence of the juvenile prevention units of the National Police of Ukraine. The specificity of the activity of juvenile prevention units is that they are authorized to carry out crime prevention measures both among minors who are not delinquents, and among minors prone to committing offenses, as well as among minors who have already committed offenses, with the aim of preventing new offenses. For this purpose, the specified divisions carry out a number of measures at the special and individual levels of prevention. Thus, joint preventive raids are organized and carried out at a special level; making submissions to enterprises, institutions, and organizations to eliminate the causes and conditions that lead to children committing offenses; timely detection and response to cases of child abuse in the family, facts of domestic violence; prevention of violations of the child's right to general secondary education and other measures. At the individual level, targeted influence is exerted on specific minors whose behavior violates the established norms of morality and law, are inclined to commit offenses or have committed an illegal act. According to the results of the analysis of the state of offenses among children in recent years, the typical object of attention of the above-mentioned units are male minors, aged 16–17 years, growing up in a single-parent family, at the time of committing a criminal offense, having a full general secondary education, more often committing criminal offenses in the field of property (mainly theft).  Product Description popup.authors Kotsiubynska Yuliia M.
