The purpose of the study is to investigate current practical and theoretical issues of international law with the development of proposals for their solution based on current conditions and trends in the development of international law. Research methods - the theoretical and methodological basis of the study are the conceptual provisions of international law, conclusions of modern foreign and domestic legal thought in this area, provisions of international treaties and national legislation of Ukraine and other states, and judicial practice. The methodological apparatus of the study is based on the use of a set of philosophical and ideological, general scientific and special scientific methods. To achieve the goal set in the study, the author used such scientific methods as dialectical, historical, functional, structural-functional, formal-legal, and comparative. The practical significance of the results obtained is that their findings can be used both in the practice of law and in the provision of legal aid.
