Objective – Comprehensive experimental and theoretical investigation of composite nanostructured magnetic materials, as well as the influence of magnetic field, mechanical loading, and changes in chemical composition on the functional characteristics of such materials. Research Methods: Theory of phase transitions, magnetic and deformation measurements, magnetoresistance measurements. Key Results: - Magnetization measurements and temperature dependence of the elastic modulus of the Ni-Fe(Co)-Ga shape memory alloy were conducted. The transformational properties and thermal hysteresis of the alloy were characterized. It was demonstrated that the thermal hysteresis in a magnetic field of 1.5 kOe increases by 11 degrees. - Theoretical analysis indicates that the increase in thermal hysteresis in a magnetic field is associated with a single-variant martensitic state. The temperature dependence of the Young's modulus was calculated for a twin crystal with different volume fractions of twin variants. - Theoretical calculations suggest that the single-variant martensitic state has a lower temperature of direct martensitic transformation and a smaller Young's modulus compared to the two-variant state.
