Based on the results of the research, a structure of the principles of forming an institutional environment for sustainable use of water resources in the basins of small rivers and a complex of organizational and economic mechanisms for the implementation of water management and water protection projects for their revitalization were developed. Economic levers for ensuring the sustainable use of water resources of small rivers and the implementation of their revitalization projects are proposed, which, unlike the existing ones, provide for a wider use of market instruments for investment support for sustainable water use. An algorithm for the step-by-step implementation of small river revitalization projects has been developed, which involves carrying out a set of measures to identify the main problems of water use in small river basins, determining sources of investment support for the implementation of water management projects and applying the principles of integrated management to make effective decisions.
