Beketov national university of urban economy in Kharkiv popup.description2 The research aims to identify critical issues and propose recommendations for enhancing the legal framework concerning information security in Ukraine. The primary focus is on systematically categorizing and analyzing crucial aspects of this matter. The systematic approach employed has led to the conclusion that information security is becoming a pivotal aspect of the information society's development. However, significant deficiencies exist in our country's legal regulation of this domain. One key problem is the inadequate adaptation of legislation to modern challenges and threats in the field of information security. The study highlights gaps in the regulation of personal data protection, especially in the context of military conflict, and in the realm of cybersecurity. The findings underscore the necessity to reform the legislative framework, aiming to improve mechanisms for personal data protection. This comprehensive approach is deemed essential for both individual users on their computers and corporate networks. Special emphasis is placed on information security during martial law, addressing issues such as the personal data protection of individuals liable for military service and the role of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights in this context. Furthermore, the study acknowledges that the development of artificial intelligence, along with the utilization of technologies like Chat GPT and blockchain, requires effective legal regulation to safeguard the rights and interests of users. While these technologies broaden communication opportunities, they also introduce new challenges to information security, necessitating meticulous and adept legal intervention. In summary, the study underscores the imperative to reform Ukraine's legal framework to effectively address information security issues, considering current challenges and trends in the evolution of the information society.
