The purpose of the research is to create, study and submit to the state qualification examination varieties of spring barley and bare-grain barley with the usual and amylopectin composition of starch, with a yield of 7-8.5 t/ha, adapted to growing conditions in the Northern Forest Steppe and Polissia of Ukraine. Research methods: field and laboratory. Results: In 2021, 68 combinations of parental pairs were hybridized. Appropriate research was conducted in all breed nurseries and the best breeding lines were selected for further research in the following years. According to the results of the state qualification examination, in 2021, the varieties of spring barley Svitoch Nosivskyi and bare grain - Natair were entered into the Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine.
