The department's activities were carried out in accordance with the applied priority direction of research 41.03.00.05.P "Organizational foundations of the formation of branch library and information resources for the agricultural sector of Ukraine using innovative technologies" within the 2023 stage of R&D "Organization of open access to integrated information resources of agricultural topics as an innovative-progressive form of scientific support for the needs of the agricultural industry". The needs for library and information products are reflected in the tasks that society sets before the library, considering it as an institution that contributes to the socialization of a person and his adaptation to economic realities. The form of provision of library products depends on the functions they perform at the given stage of the development of library activities, the level of development of library technologies, as well as on the change in the social role of reading and the information needs of users. The specificity of the library product is that its production is carried out based on the transformation of production resources into products of a special intellectual kind. An information product is the result of the creation or semantic processing of information in documented, digital forms, which allows multiple use of the product in the process of meeting information needs. Therefore, the NSAL of the NAAS continues to form and organize a centralized and scientifically based collection of the book fund, the fund of periodicals, digital and other publications with domestic and foreign documents.
