The purpose of the research is to create, study and submit to the state qualification examination varieties of spring barley and bare-grain barley with the usual and amylopectin composition of starch, with a yield of 7-8.5 t/ha, adapted to growing conditions in the Northern Forest Steppe and Polissia of Ukraine. Research methods: field and laboratory. Results: A new initial hybrid material was created by the method of hybridization of 49 parent pairs. In accordance with the research program, the necessary field and laboratory studies were carried out in all breeding nurseries and the most promising breeding lines were selected for the continuation of breeding in the following years. The following were submitted to the state qualification examination: Volodkovodivytskyi filmy spring barley variety with a normal starch composition and Nosivshchyna bare grain spring barley variety with waxy type starch.
