Paton Elektric Welding Institute National Academy of scinces of Ukraine popup.description2  During the work progress the basics of alloying of modern supermartensitic steels were summarized, the peculiarities of their structure, mechanical and corrosion properties were established. It is shown that the advantages of such steels are their economical alloying and lower cost compared to highly alloyed austenitic steels, which at the same time is combined with their higher strength properties, high corrosion resistance, resistance to corrosion cracking under stress in atmospheric, water conditions and environments with increased aggressiveness. Due to the complex of high physico-chemical and physico-mechanical properties inherent in modern supermartensitic steels, the fields of their application are expanding - from pipelines for oil and gas transport, oil refining equipment to hydrotechnical power equipment. Welding electrodes were developed and the mode of heat treatment of welded joints (600 °С/ 4 hours) was experimentally determined, providing a high complex of mechanical properties of seams: Rm ≥ 850 MPa, Rp 0,2 ≥ 750 MPa. It is shown that the tempering effect during repeated welding heating provides an increase in the resistance of the metal in the zone of the pre-made layers to delayed fracture by ~ 1.5 times compared to the metal of single-pass welding. It is recommended to use multi-pass welding with thin beads with an inter-pass temperature of 90...120 °C. The obtained results expand the theoretical ideas regarding the formation of the structure, mechanical properties and technological strength of welded joints of supermartensitic steels and create the basis of the technology of welding of oil and gas and hydropower equipment.
