The study of synthetic populations (families) was carried out, which were formed according to the quantitative indicators of the phenotypic manifestation of traits: a combination of a short, non-germinating stem with a large grain from a plant in various combinations of these traits according to the phenotype: 90–120 cm stem length, weight of grain from the main ear > 2.0 g, 50–60 g weight of 100 grains from an elite plant. Population No. 9 (Х=113.0 cm) was selected according to the height of the plants. Populations No. 6 and No. 9 (Х=12.5–12.7 pcs.) were distinguished based o productive tillering. Population No. 7 (Х = 11.5 cm) was distinguished by the length of the ear. According to the number of grains (Х = 60.4 pcs.) and graininess (Х = 92.2 %) of the main ear, selection value and homeostaticity, population No. 14 was determined to be the best. ,4). Populations with an average weight of grain from plant No. 5 of 28.4 g, No. 6 of 29.7 g, and No. 9 of 25.8 g were isolated. According to the mass of 100 grains from the plant, synthetic population No. 10 (Х = 5.7 g) was selected. According to the average indicator of the level of productivity, the superiority over the standard variety Syntetik 38 (X = 7.41 t/ha) w determined in populations No. 4 (X = 7.88 t/ha), No. 5 (X = 7.82 t/ha) , No. 8 (X = 7.75 t/ha), No. 12 (X = 8.12 t/ha). Population No. 8 (Х = 711 g/l) was selected according to the grain type indicator. According to the average indicator of the protein content in the grain, populations No. 2 (X = 10.0%) and No. 3 (X = 10.3%) were distinguished. A new winter rye variety of Myts Nosivshchyny was submitted for qualification examination to the Ukrainian Institute of Plant Variety Examination.
