The purpose of the research work is the theoretical justification of the methodology and the development of scientific-methodical approaches to the problems of sociological monitoring of the quality of higher education as a tool of the internal system of ensuring the quality of activities in a modern university. Based on the purpose of the research work, the following tasks were defined and solved: 1) to find out the theoretical and methodological basis for updating the issues of sociological monitoring of the quality of education in a modern university; 2) specify the content and determine the structure of mechanisms of state regulation of procedures for monitoring the quality of higher education in Ukraine; 3) to investigate the development trends of sociological monitoring of the quality of education in a modern university; 4) to formulate proposals for improving the effectiveness of the use of tools for monitoring the quality of education in a modern university, as well as to substantiate ways of improving the content and practice of implementing state policy in the field of quality assurance of higher education in Ukraine. Research methods. To solve the tasks in the research, the following methods were used: general scientific analysis; systemic and structural; systematization; analytical, logical, generalization, scientific abstraction.
