Karazin Kharkiv National University popup.description2  The use of radiofrequency ablation for the treatment of patients with atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter probably reduces the risk of nonfatal cardiovascular events, especially stroke. It was established that the initial duration of arrhythmia (odds ratio [OR]: 1.72; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.51-2.02; p=0.021) and systolic blood pressure (SBP) (OR: 1.83; 95% CI: 1.41-2.15; p=0.016) were independent predictors of two-year survival after radiofrequency ablation. The optimal threshold value for the occurrence of arrhythmia as a predictor of survival with 58.4% sensitivity and 65.8% specificity was 11.4 months (AUC: 0.655, 95% CI: 0.561-0.728, p=0.037); and for SAT with 46.8% sensitivity and 52.4% specificity - it was 126.7 mmHg. (area under the curve: 0.582, 95% CI: 0.463-0.591, p=0.072). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the use and dose of pharmacotherapy before RFA did not influence the subsequent survival of patients with AF. Long-term (more than 3 months) prescription of anticoagulants (p=0.032) after RFA was an independent predictor of patient survival in the two-year study period. The results of the NDR and their implementation - on the basis of the studies conducted for patients with atrial fibrillation after radiofrequency ablation, predictors of the adverse course of the disease were identified. The obtained data make it possible to optimize the selection of patients with fibrillation, atrial flutter and their combination for the radiofrequency ablation procedure.
