The subject of the study is the legislative and regulatory acts that regulate the composition and content of and the procedure for developing the section on civil protection engineering measures in urban planning documentation. The purpose of the scientific and technical development is to carry out standardisation work by establishing provisions and requirements for the textual part and geodatabase of the civil protection engineering measures section in the regional planning scheme, district planning scheme, comprehensive plan for the development of the territory of a territorial community, master plan of a settlement and detailed plan of the territory. The work was to be performed in four stages. The result of the development is a draft national standard, DSTU Guidelines for the Implementation of the Civil Protection Engineering Measures Section in Urban Planning Documentation, which will be used by urban planning entities, primarily executive authorities and local governments, design organisations, customers (investors) and contractors when creating urban planning documentation at the regional and local levels. The application of the standard will help ensure an adequate level of protection of the population in the event of emergencies in peacetime and special periods.
