However, the use of gaseous nitrogen is quite attractive from the point of view of environmental friendliness of the process of extraction of the alloying admixture, and nitrogen itself increases the strength indicators of iron-carbon products. In this regard, various methods are used to increase the solubility of nitrogen and its assimilation, including due to the preliminary activation of the gas in an electric discharge. Through physical modeling, it was established that the best results from the activation of the gas jet are achieved under the conditions of installing the anode in the middle of the rod cathode, when the anode protrudes beyond the cathode (at the level of 100-160 μA with a distance between the electrodes of 30-40 mm) and with an increased distance of the discharge force current increases. It has been established that the best indicators of gas jet activation occur at low purge gas pressures (0.1-0.2 MPa). Based on the results of laboratory research, a technology was developed and modes of treatment with an activated nitrogen jet of iron-carbon melt with a low carbon content were investigated. It was established that the rational mode of introducing nitrogen into the melt is 250-350 l/min. t of steel; while the nitrogen content in steel is 0.057, 0.068 and 0.072%. respectively, for the conditions of introducing gaseous nitrogen into the jet, with plasma activation and spark electric discharge, respectively.
