Semenenko Institute of geochemistry, mineralogy and ore formation popup.description2  The objective of the work is to make a list of mineral species and their varieties known in the bowels of Ukraine, to create an information base on the distribution of mineral species characterized at the modern level, to reveal regularities of distribution and changes in the properties of minerals depending on their location in various geological structures of Ukraine. While doing the work, individual minerals were investigated by microprobe and X-ray phase methods, inclusions in minerals were studied, data from published scientific works on the mineralogy of Ukraine for the period of 1900–2023 were systematized. This made it possible to reveal some regularities in the distribution of mineral species in the bowels of Ukraine, in the crystal-morphological evolution of minerals, to show the connection between tectonics and the distribution of minerals, to substantiate the prospects of creating of mineralogical maps for the development of criteria for the search for deposits, and to outline the directions of the search for new mineral species in the geological formations of Ukraine. The Ukrainian nomenclature of minerals given in the appendix, adapted to the recommendations of international mineralogical organizations, is used as a standard for scientific publications and a component for the working out of training and methodological materials of educational programs in the geological direction.
