Paton Elektric Welding Institute National Academy of scinces of Ukraine popup.description2 An ANF-41 flux was developed, which was tested in the MBLZ crystallizer with a speed of 500 mm/min. and in case of ESR of rail steel with an ingot pulling speed of up to 40 mm/min., that is, at a speed 4 times higher than the speed of the ESR process using known fluxes. An ANF-39A flux has been developed for ESR in stationary crystallizers. The electricity consumption for melting at it using is 15-20% lower. A model of experimental equipment for mechanized electric arc welding of railway rails using a bath method with a fusible nozzle has been created. Flux wires and fusible nozzles have been developed, which ensure the content of diffusible hydrogen in the weld metal during fusible nozzle welding of railway and tram rails less 5 cm3/100 g. The technology of welding of rails in a narrow gap of 12-18 mm has been developed, which ensures the cooling rate of the HAZ metal in the temperature range 600-500 °С in the range of 2.4-4.5 K/s, which ensures the absence of martensite and cold cracks in the rail joints. In the conditions of KP "Kyivpastrans" in 2021-2023, research and experimental work was carried out to adapt the technology of welding with a fusible nozzle to modern requirements, during which the joints of NT1, LK1, 62R1 and 60R2 rails were welded both with each other and with P65 and T62 rails in track conditions. Modeling of diffusion, electrical and thermal processes in powerful electric arcs was carried out and graphitized cored electrodes for steel arc furnaces were created. Their application on alternating current furnaces in the conditions of PrJSC "Dniprospetsstal" on the 50-ton furnace DSV-50 and 6-ton furnace DS-6N1 and in the conditions of PrJSC "Feroks" on the 12-ton direct current furnace provided high technical economic indicators.
