The aim of the research is to adapt the methodology for hydromorphological monitoring of surface water bodies of the "Rivers" category to the physico-geographical features of the main rivers basins of Ukraine and to develop the methodological recommendations for hydromorphological monitoring of surface water bodies of the "Lakes" category. Research methods - geographical information systems, methods of comparison and generalisation.
