The purpose of the study is to develop methodological recommendations for maintaining the state water cadastre in the section "Surface water" in terms of accounting for surface water bodies to determine the principles and methods of maintaining the state water cadastre. The main tasks to be solved during the implementation of this development are as follows: - development of criteria and grounds for surface water bodies accounting; - functional support and the procedure for updating the state water cadastre data, including taking into account the requirements of EU acts; - defining the objects and subjects of the State Water Cadastre under the section "Surface Water" in terms of surface water accounting; - determination of the organizational and functional structure of maintaining the State Water Code under the section "Surface Water" in terms of surface water bodies accounting; - development of the procedure for maintaining the State Water Cadastre in terms of surface water bodies accounting; - providing recommendations on the practical use of the Methodological Recommendations for Maintaining the State Water Cadastre in the Section "Surface Water" in terms of accounting for surface water bodies." Scope - the process of water resources management in the system of the State Agency of Water Resources of Ukraine (determination of general principles and methods of maintaining the state water cadastre in terms of accounting for surface water bodies under the section "Surface Water" and the composition of cadastral data).
