It is shown that, in general, the series of observations are homogeneous and quasi-stationary. Quasi-stationarity is determined by the presence of only the decreasing phase and the increasing phase of long-term cyclic fluctuations, which are also incomplete. A cross-validation of ERA5 reanalysis data and surface observations on the wind speed and dew point temperature was performed. It was obtained that the good agreement has place between them. Quantitative skill-scores are quite comparable to the values of similar characteristics in numerical weather prediction for mid-latitudes. It was found that the large deviation of the ERA5 reanalysis data from the actual values of wind speed and dew point temperature is not constant throughout the year and varies from month to month. It is shown that in the ERA5 reanalysis there is a tendency to increase the accuracy: than the values are closer to the present time, that the higher accuracy has place. On the basis of the ERA5 reanalysis data, a description of the annual course (by month) of wind speed, dew point temperature and dew point deficit for the entire territory of the Antarctic Peninsula was carried out. The trends of changes of the snow cover height, wind speed, relative humidity and dew point temperature at the station "Akademik Vernadskyi" during 2002-2022 were analyzed. It is shown that the wind in combination with the thermal factor plays the greatest role, and at the same time, the direction of the wind is an important diagnostic sign of an intense decrease in the height of the snow cover.
