The aim of the work is is to modify the equipment, develop methods of research - mass spectroscopic; interactions with slow electrons (scattering, excitation, ionization, dissociation and attachment); photoluminescence of powders, water solutions; effects of high-energy electrons, photons, neutrons; radiation of gas discharge plasma of helium- and argon-sulfur mixtures. Research methods - optical and mass spectroscopy, using monoenergetic electrons, laser, X-ray, ionizing radiation, calculations by Hartree-Fock, density functional theory. The main scientific results include the measurement of ionization potentials, temperature dependences and appearance energies of fragment ions, and total ionization cross sections for glutamine, glutamic acid, valine, glucose, and ribose. The irradiation of glucose by MeV neutrons and photoluminescence spectra of valine and glucose powders under excitation by UV photons and glucose by MeV electrons were studied. The absorption and fluorescence spectra of a glutamine solution caused by UV radiation and X-ray luminescence of powders of tyrosine, tryptophan, and phenylalanine have been studied. The interaction of an electron with molecules of glutamine, cytosine, thymine, uracil, and ribose during scattering and dissociative attachment is resonant. The absolute value of the total cross sections of the resonant electron scattering by thymine and cytosine above 4 eV was obtained. The electron attachment to thymine and uracil molecules gives fragment anions with the hydrogen atom removed, and to D-ribose - light and heavy anions. An experimental sample of the electron spectrometer was created. Argon- and helium-sulfur mixtures are an effective plasma source of sulfur dimers in the visible range.
