Purpose - to improve the national regulatory and testing framework for methods of assessing the fire resistance of building structures and fire barriers, taking into account the impact of different fire temperature conditions. Research methods - analytical research method (analysis of domestic and foreign regulatory framework, guidelines and technical documents, information brochures, manuals and other sources of information) and method of numerical modelling of the thermal state of building structures under fire exposure at different nominal fire temperature conditions. The paper analyses regulatory documents and other sources of information on methods for assessing the fire resistance of building structures and fire barriers under fire exposure at different nominal fire temperature conditions, which have been implemented at the international, regional and national levels. The influence of the fire temperature regime on the results of fire resistance assessment of steel building structures is investigated. To improve the national regulatory framework for assessing the fire resistance of building structures and fire barriers and bring it in line with international and European standards, drafts of eight national standards have been developed that establish procedures and requirements for verification and validation of calculation methods in the field of fire engineering, test methods for fire resistance of building structures and fire barriers, and methods for determining the impact of fire protection materials on the fire resistance of structures. Proposals for amendments to the national standards for fire resistance testing methods for building structures and fire barriers, as well as to DBN B.1.1-7:2016, have been developed. The results of the R&D will be used by conformity assessment bodies, developers of national regulatory documents, and design organisations.
