The objects of research are the processes of elementary interactions of electrons of controlled energy with atoms, molecules and ions in the gas phase. The goal of the project is to study the processes of interaction of slow electrons with atoms and ions of heavy metals and molecules of amino acids, to establish their main characteristics, to determine the main mechanisms of interaction of these particles and the influence of higher-order processes on these mechanisms. Experimental studies were carried out on four original installations using electronic, optical and mass spectroscopy methods Theoretical calculations of spectroscopic parameters of complex atomic and molecular systems were carried out using modern quantum mechanical methods and computer programs. New knowledge was obtained about the mechanisms of processes, new atomic/ionic/molecular constants (in particular, absolute cross sections of excitation and ionization of Zn, Cd, Pb, Bi atoms, Tl+, Pb+ ions; excitation-autoionization of atoms Sr and Ba; energies and channels of formation and decay of autoionization states of atoms Sr, Ba, Zn, Cd, Tl, Pb, Bi; cross sections of ionization and dissociative ionization of molecules of amino acids valine and glutamine, energy characteristics of the ground state of molecules and their radicals, energy of appearance of ionic fragments, angular and energy dependences of differential and integral cross sections of elastic electron scattering by atoms Sb, I, Xe, Bi, Rn and molecules Bin, Sen, CHn, CFnX (X=H, F, Cl, Br, I)).
