The subject of the study is the influence of physical, geometric, and operational factors on the aerodynamic resistance of heat exchange devices and on the heat transfer characteristics of the devices as a whole and their main elements - thermosyphons. The aim of the study is to investigate the processes of heat and mass transfer and hydrodynamics in flat-oval thermosyphons with external fins and heat exchange devices made of such thermosyphons. Research methods: experimental, theoretical, CFD modeling. The report proposes new designs of flat-oval thermosyphons with incomplete transverse fins and heat exchange devices utilizing ventilation air heat based on these thermosyphons. The results of a comprehensive study of the heat transfer characteristics of thermosyphons and the thermal and aerodynamic characteristics of heat exchange devices are presented. The obtained results confirm the high efficiency of both thermosyphons and heat exchange devices based on them. Dependencies for calculating the intensity of heat transfer inside thermosyphons and outside in thermosyphon packages, as well as for determining the pressure loss in a heat exchanger, are proposed. Recommendations for the design of heat exchangers based on flat-oval thermosyphons are proposed.
