Sokolovsky» popup.description2 The object of the study is the sustainable management of fertilizers by improving approaches to the regulation of the use of mineral fertilizers in the cultivation of agricultural crops. The purpose of the study is to improve the normative and methodological principles of environmentally safe application of mineral fertilizers in the country's agriculture, taking into account local soil and climatic conditions, the needs of the modern agricultural sector and the best foreign practices to realization of the Sustainable Development Goals of Ukraine. Research methods are field, laboratory, mathematical and statistical. The theoretical results were analyzed and the materials materials of own research, current domestic legal acts and European guidelines on fertilizers management were summarized. Practical results - the level of provision of soils of the chernozem range with mineral nitrogen and mobile phosphorus compounds was determined; was diagnosed the improbability of ecological risks due to the introduction of up to N180 and of up to P120 on the soils of the forest-steppe areas, that is, zones that are not vulnerable to (accumulation of) nitrates; balance of nutrients is was calculated for the regions of Ukraine, under different agricultural crops and for specific production conditions. Novelty - standards for environmental restrictions on the use of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers have been developed, which provide for control of the use of fertilizers and control of their impact on environmental objects (water and soils); the algorithm for determining ecologically appropriate norms for the application of mineral fertilizers was verified. Effectiveness of implementation – minimization of environmental risks (pollution of soils and water object) and improvement of the agro-economic efficiency of fertilizer use (payback per unit of active substance, increase in the utilization rate of fertilizers, reduction of non-target costs).
