A study of the dynamics of the ionospheric plasma during the commencement of the geomagnetic storm on April 23, 2023 was carried out using the data of the vertical sounding of the ionosphere at the Ukrainian Antarctic station Akademik Vernadsky (UAS), oblique sounding of the ionosphere using the signals of the UAS ionosonde with a passive ionosonde on board the research vessel (RV) Noosfera, Doppler receivers at UAS, RV Noosfera, and at the LOFAR PL610 observatory located in the village of Borowiec (Poland), magnetometer data of AIA (located at the UAS) and BEL observatories (Belsk Duzy, Poland). Experimental data were used to estimate the parameters of plasma motion and clarify the mechanisms of long-distance propagation of HF radio waves. The possibilities are analyzed and the prospects of joint study of the Schumann resonance using synchronous measurements from the Akademik Vernadsky station and the Canadian magnetometer network CARISMA are shown.
