The purpose of the work is to develop an engineering and technical method of preventing man-made emergencies at critical infrastructure facilities by means of operational monitoring of the state of the air environment on the territory (nearby) of the facilities in order to prevent them from occurring. Research methods – mathematical and experimental methods. In accordance with the set goal, the following research tasks were formulated: • development of mathematical models of physical processes during extinguishing, cooling of materials during fires; • conducting experimental studies on the study of physical processes during extinguishing and cooling of materials during fires; • development of recommendations for increasing the efficiency of fire suppression using thermal imagers.
