The purpose of the work of the second stage of work is to determine the list of dangerous substances and substances that pose a threat in cases of man-made accidents. The research method is a complex of general scientific (analysis, synthesis, comparison, generalization) methods. At the second stage of this work, the characteristics of man-made accidents and hazardous chemical substances (HCS) arising from various types of man-made accidents, their characteristics and classification according to EU standards are determined. At the second stage of this work, it was determined: the general characteristics of man-made accidents that lead to the threat of release of hazardous substances; hazardous chemical substances (HCS) arising in various types of man-made accidents, their characteristics and classification according to EU standards, impact of accidents on atmospheric air; the impact of accidents on the aquatic environment; impact of accidents on soils; a general list of hazardous chemicals that are released into the environment during accidents.
