Magneto-optical response signals whose symmetry, dynamics, scaling of the terahertz field, and dependence on the sample structure are fully consistent with a uniform antiferromagnetic magnon in the plane of the film driven by a terahertz spin-orbit Néel moment. Upon excitation of the antiferromagnet by pulses of terahertz radiation with an electric field strength of more than 500 kV cm-1, clearly expressed nonlinear spin dynamics with a giant deviation of the Néel vector by almost 30° was revealed. These data are consistent with the developed micromagnetic model. The obtained results indicate the possibility of fully coherent high-speed switching of the Néel vector of thin films of the metal collinear antiferromagnet Mn2Au by 90° within 1 ps using the terahertz Néel spin-orbit moment.
