A qualitatively new selection material was created, which was tested in drought conditions, with the aim of obtaining drought-resistant forms of long-legged flax for further selection. In the conditions of a complex infectious nursery, 744 selection samples were evaluated for resistance to fusarium wilt and anthracnose. The best numbers for resistance to fusarium wilt - 46, to anthracnose - 51, with group resistance to diseases - 19 units were selected. As a result of the assessment of 202 selection hybrids of flax-dughuntsa of the 2nd stage of selection, 84 samples with high resistance to fusarium were selected by the method of express diagnostics. The economic, technological and biological characteristics of 1,424 selection numbers of long-stemmed flax were studied in breeding nurseries at all stages of selection, and promising breeding material was selected according to research directions. According to the results of a comprehensive assessment, selection number 2539 was selected in the control nursery, which exceeds the Gladiator standard in terms of straw yield by 15.0%, is at the level of the standard in terms of seed yield, is moderately resistant to fusarium wilt and can be used in further selection work; in the selective variety test - selection number 2421, which prevailed over the standard variety Gladiator in terms of seed yield by 2.3% and straw yield by 13.5%, is moderately susceptible to fusarium and anthracnose.
