Kavetsky Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 The analysis of open databases of UALCAN KM Plotter allowed us to establish that the development of malignant neoplasms of the mammary gland is accompanied by an increase in the level of mRNA and hypomethylation of MMP1, as well as a decrease in the expression of MMP8 at the level of mRNA and protein in the tumor tissue. The relationship between MMP1 expression indicators and the histological type of breast cancer was determined, while an increase in the expression indicators of this marker at the protein and mRNA levels was recorded in the tissue of triple-negative breast cancer in comparison with the luminal subtype of neoplasms. It was found that MMP8 expression indicators in tumor tissue are associated with such indicators of breast cancer malignancy as the age of patients and the stage of the tumor process. Analysis of overall and relapse-free survival rates of breast cancer patients using the Kaplan-Meier Plotter database established that an increase in MMP1 and MMP8 mRNA levels in breast cancer tissue correlates with high rates of overall survival in breast cancer patients. The expression profile of tumor-associated microRNAs (DIANA-TarBase, TargetScan, MiRNApath, BLAST TOOLS) involved in the regulation of collagenase gene expression during the development and progression of breast cancer was identified.
