For the first time in Ukraine, a randomized study of the use of different methods of teaching single-port surgery was conducted; basic surgical training in single-port surgery skills using 3D equipment showed more effective results among trainees without laparoscopic experience compared to the standard 2D approach; a bariatric/metabolic surgery curriculum was developed and implemented at the School of Innovative Medicine for practical use; for the first time in Ukraine, single-port laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy was performed in the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus associated with obesity; high efficiency of single-port surgical interventions was confirmed in comparison with multi-port surgical interventions; for the first time in Ukraine, transoral endoscopic stapler diverticuloesophagostomy was performed and implemented in wide practice in patients with Zenker diverticulum; for the first time in Ukraine, the dynamics of gastrointestinal hormones and carbohydrate metabolism in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus with obesity after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy was studied. The use of minimally invasive techniques in the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus associated with obesity has shown better results compared to traditional (open) techniques; the feasibility of continuing research in the development of minimally invasive techniques in the surgical treatment of gastrointestinal pathology remains relevant.
