Registration Date 26-01-2024 Organization National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine A.V.Dumansky Institute of Colloid Chemistry and Water Chemistry popup.description2  The object of research is multiporous activated carbon (AC) with a developed structure and a large surface area. The purpose of the research is to substantiate and develop the scientific and technological bases of obtaining multifunctional and specialized sorbents by their activation, oxidation with oxygen-containing compounds - hydrogen peroxide and nitric acid. Research methods - thermal activation by steam under conditions that ensure the course of the reaction with chemical control of the formation and expansion of the internal porous structure of AC and oxidation of AC. The main structural and sorption characteristics of oxidized sorbents were evaluated. On the basis of structural parameters (adsorption volume, specific surface, volume of micropores, surface area of mesopores), thermal modes of physical activation by water vapor were selected. The total number of AC surface functional groups was studied and the exchange capacity of acidic and basic surface groups was determined on samples obtained under different technological conditions. It was established that at a temperature of (800-950) 0C and an activation time of (60-90) minutes, it is possible to stably obtain activated products with a developed adsorption volume of pores (0,26-0,35) cm3/g) and a specific surface area (700- 900) m2/g), which correspond to the indicators of commercial AC. A critical analysis of the availability of the original lignin-cellulosic raw material was carried out and the main technological methods and stages of obtaining materials with high carbon binding were proposed. The conditions and methods of its modification with certain parameters of the nanostructure matrix and changed surface chemistry to give AC specific adsorption properties were investigated. The field of application is water preparation and water treatment. Product Description popup.authors Yezlovetska Inna S. Vrubel Tetiana L. Hvozdiak Petro I. Hrechanyk Serhii V. Zheldak Oleksandr M.
