Gryshka National Botanical Garden NAS of Ukraine popup.description2  The object – regularities and features of the processes of adaptation and acclimatization, the reproductive capacity of fruit plants of the world flora under the conditions of introduction in Ukraine. The subject – introduced and autochthonous fruit species, adaptation, acclimatization, secondary metabolites; selection, selection and introduction of cultivars. The purpose – to substantiate the theoretical foundations of the use of fruit plants, the peculiarities of the realization of the genetic potential of species under the conditions of introduction; to assess the adaptive and reproductive capacity of cultivars rich in BAR. To create new immune cultivars, to introduce into horticulture those that have economic and social significance. Research methods – introductory, phenological, ecobiological, morphological, biochemical; analytical and synthetic selection, selection of somatic mutations. A collection and breeding fund of fruit plant species unique in Ukraine has been created – a potential source of new genotypes of Asimina, Elaeagnus, Pseudocydonia etc. with a high content of medicinal and dietary BARs. The range of variability of traits important for selection has been determined. The degree of adaptation of introduced species of fruit plants was evaluated by analyzing a complex of indicators under the influence of stress factors in new cultivation conditions. It has been established that new introduced species can be grown in regions with different climatic conditions from their natural habitats. The concept of adaptive introduction is substantiated. It was established that in order to increase the stability of Actinidia arguta, phosphorus and zinc feeding is necessary during the growing season due to fluctuations in the distribution of elements in the soil and in plants. New promising forms of dogwood, quince, persimmon, turfgrass, pseudocydonia and henomeles were selected. 14 new cultivars of apple and actinidia were registered (11 and 3, respectively).
