Objects of research: horticultural farms, innovative developments (new and promising plum varieties selected by the L.P. Simyrenko Research Station of Pomology of the Institute of Horticulture of the National Academy of Sciences). The purpose of the research is to scientifically and methodically substantiate and develop practical measures for the implementation of innovative developments to ensure the sustainable development of the horticulture industry as an important component of the country's food security. Research methods are general scientific and empirical: analysis, synthesis, system analysis, analogies, modeling, calculation-analytical, observation, experiment, as well as operational, statistical-economic, graphical. According to the results, it is proposed to restore the clause in the grant program for the development of horticulture, which establishes the allocation of up to 5% of the budget funds provided for the development of viticulture, horticulture and hop-growing, to finance the costs of specialized scientific institutions for carrying out scientific and technical research and development in the specified fields, as well as costs associated with strengthening their material and technical base; in order to restore the lost resource potential of the industry as quickly as possible (30 thousand hectares of berry plantations), and, therefore, the annual planting of perennial plantations at the level of 4-5 thousand hectares, to include nurseries in the grant program with the aim of increasing the annual production of certified to at least 5 million planting material of fruit (in particular, stone) crops of varieties adapted to growing in the climatic conditions of the Forest Steppe and Polissia.
