Registration Date 30-01-2024 Organization National Research Center PI Prokopovich Institute of Beekeeping popup.description2  Selected optimal concentrations of the probiotic Apinormin 4%; cerium dioxide 0,5%; grape seed extracts 1%, which could be used orally and contactally for the bees’ recovery from infectious brood diseases and increasing the strength of bee colonies. The effect of Apinormin 4% feeding together with anolyte 25% and cerium dioxide 1,72% was determined on the natural bee’s extinction. It was established that feeding each sample separately gave better results than feeding together, and therefore it is not advisable to use them in a mixture. The effect of 4% probiotics of various purposes bees feeding was determined: Apinormin for bees, Bazhana capsules for humans, Immunobacterin-D for domestic animals, and Purina ProPlan FortiFlora for dogs. In the variant with Apinormin, bees’ extinction slowed down compared to other variants, which indicates its health-improving properties for bees. In experiments under natural conditions on bee colonies affected by sacbrood diseases: the health-improving effect of Apinormin 4%, cerium dioxide 0,5%, and grape seed extract 1% was not confirmed. It was possible to improve health of bee colonies by creating of sterile period on the duration of new queens rearing >30 days and bee colonies relocation after the hatching of the brood to clean combs in disinfected beehives. The replacement of queens on the day of their removal from their colonies and the isolation of queens in cages for 15 days did not have an effect, even though this method was combined with cerium dioxide feeding. Introduction of 3 queens removed from diseased colonies into established healthy colonies 5 km from the apiary showed that the causative agent of sacbrood disease transmitted through the uterus (transovarially or pseudotransovarially), as evidenced by the manifestation of the disease in the 1st colony from 3 formed (33,3%).
