During the reporting period, the results were presente at scientific and practical conferences at the international and domestic levels. Summarizing the results of this study, we can conclude that cognitive impairment is a common complication of both pre-existing diabetes mellitus and newly diagnosed diabetes mellitus2. Thus, for type 1 diabetes is from 54.5% to 63.6%, among patients with type 2 diabetes - from 20.0% to 96.7%, for newly diagnosed - 8.3% to 96.7 % depending on the tests performed to assess cognitive impairment. Risk factors for the development of cognitive dysfunction in patients with type1 diabetes mellitus: the age of the patient at the time of diagnosis, increase body mass index, the presence of hypoglycemic conditions and diabetic retinopathy. In patients with DMD 2 types of mature age, the negative factors leading to cognitive dysfunction include an increase in the duration of the disease, a high level of glycosylated hemoglobin, the presence of hypoglycaemic states, high levels of total cholesterol, the presence of diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN), diabetic retinopathy (DR), depression disorders. In infants - there is an increase in age of patients, male sex, increased glycosylated hemoglobin, increase in body mass index, presence of depression, DPN, DR, increase level systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
