The project aims to create a solid-state combined structure based on heterogeneous dielectrics for technical means of protection against electrical overvoltages of photovoltaic components of solar cells suitable for use in power plants of space aircraft. The development of theoretical and experimental justification was carried out for the creation of new technical means for electrothermal protection of solar batteries in the power plants of space aircraft - combined structures based on solid-state materials, including their components (varistor ceramics, polymer posistor nanocomposites and materials with critical thermosensitive properties). The novelty lies in the established possibility of creating technical means of protecting solar cells based on polymeric carbon materials based on their physical and chemical features, particularly: an abnormally high coefficient of thermal volumetric expansion compared to the filler material; and percolation conductivity. An approximation model of varistor nonlinear electrical conductivity has been improved, which is supplemented by taking into account the thermal processes that accompany the varistor at the moment of transition from a state with low conductivity to a state with high conductivity to determine the optimal parameters of varistor materials for voltage limiters. The obtained results should serve as justification and practical recommendations for the selection and application of technology for the production of photovoltaic systems of solar cells with increased reliability and service life, as well as for the establishment of proposed circuit-technical means for limiting current overloads and preventing abnormal situations in solar cells in operation.
