Registration Date 30-01-2024 Organization National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine A.V.Dumansky Institute of Colloid Chemistry and Water Chemistry popup.description2 Research objects – sorption purification of water environments based on synthesized and modified sodium humate magnetite and layered double hydroxides with different ratios of Me(II)/Fe(III) and their composites with magnetite for the extraction of organics (on the example of cationic surfactant decylpyridinium chloride BPH) and inorganic ecotoxicants for example radionuclides (U(VI), Sr-90) and some toxic heavy metals. The purpose of this work is the synthesis, characterization and identification of sorbents based on iron-containing sorbents, including magnetite, layered double hydroxides with different ratios of Me(II)/Fe(III) and their composites with magnetite for extraction of U(VI) and Sr-90 radionuclides. The paper confirms the perspective of studying the sorption extraction from aqueous media of BPH using magnetite and its modified form with sodium humate. The paper investigated the sorption extraction of Cd(II) and Co(II) from aqueous media by synthesized goethite (α-FeOOH), lepidocrocite (γ-FeO(OH), and ferrigel (Fe(OH)3) with basic surface groups for evaluation of the sorption mechanism. Me(II), Fe-SHPG are quite promising due to their structural features, which are an important resource for ecological application in environmental restoration strategies, in particular, water purification. The synthesis and comparative evaluation of the adsorption capacity of carbonate forms of layered double hydroxides (SHPG) with different ratios of Ni(II)/Fe(III) and their nanocomposites in relation to U(VI) and Sr(II) ions in aqueous solutions was carried out. A linear correlation of the saturation magnetization of magnetic nanocomposites with the content of the magnetite phase was established. Due to the high efficiency in combination with magnetic solid-phase separation, the obtained sorption materials are promising for the purification of natural and wastewater from the specified radyl nuclides.
