The first in Ukraine control list of land vertebrates of Ukraine alien species was ordered. The long-term dynamics of the habitats and abundance of alien species of mammals in the riparian ecosystems of the Siverskyi Dinets basin was studied. Alien species were introduced to the territory of the region by humans on purpose (Ondanta zibethicus; Nyctereutes procyonoides; Neogale vison) or as a result of escape from culture (Neogale vison). A cycle of research on the history of the zoological collections of the NMNH was conducted. The history of many ancient zoological specimens was described. The importance of symbolic groups (using the example of the cat family) in shaping the exhibition attractiveness was considered. The important role of personal scientific and collecting activity of researchers was shown. Essays on collectors and zoologists involved in museum collections were prepared. The definition of the stages of natural museology that is closely related to the history of natural science was emphasized.
