The methodical bases of the analysis of modern processes in tourist activity are determined, the organizational principles of assessing the state of sustainability of modern tourist activity are singled out, and a methodical approach to the economic assessment of ensuring the sustainability of the tourism industry is proposed. The feasibility of ensuring the sustainability of tourism at the regional level was substantiated, the current processes in the field of tourism at the regional level were analyzed, the system of regional management of tourism was improved, and a comprehensive system of measures was developed to ensure the sustainability of tourism in the Odesa region. The results of the research work can be used in finalizing the main provisions of the Odesa Oblast Development Strategy for 2021-2027, applied in the leanening process, and also implemented in the activities of tourism enterprises of the region.
