Bakul Institute of superhard material of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2  New composite materials based on MgB2-Ti, MgB2-TiC, MgB2-TiOx, MgB2-SnOx Mg(B,C)2, Mg(B,C)2-Dy2O3 with a high critical current density and trapped magnetic field have been developed. Magnets cut from hot-pressed blocks of MgB2 - 10 wt.% Ti, MgB2 - 10 wt.% T iOx, MgB2 -10 wt.% TiC have high superconducting characteristics and can be effective when used as submersible pump bearings for pumping liquid hydrogen. It was proved for the first time, that the addition of dielectric nanoparticles to YBa2Cu3O7-х films and the introduction of nanoscale radiation defects by irradiating such films with high-energy ions (Au2+ having energy of 3 MeV) significantly reduces the surface resistance of the films at microwave frequencies within the Meissner range, and significantly reduces the oscillations of Abrikosov vortices within the mixed range. In turn, it reduces the loss of microwave energy and expands the linear range of the microwave response. It was shown that artificially created nanoscale defects improve pinning and increase the selectivity of filtering of microwave signals. Film resonators were obtained with a Q factor >104 (for YBаCuO at 77 K, for MoRe at 4.2 K), which increased several times after radiation exposure. For the first time, the possibility of synthesis under high pressures and temperatures of a superconducting Cu-Ba-Ca-O compound having superconductive transition threshold near 125 K has been demonstrated.
