The starting materials of organic origin, such as agricultural waste, beet pulp and wheat straw, as well as hydrolysis lignin from the dumps of the Zaporizhzhya Hydrolysis Plant, were selected, and highly porous magnetically sensitive carbon structures were synthesised using various methods. The synthesis was carried out using ready-made magnetoresponsive particles (iron powders and iron oxides) and with the formation of magnetoresponsive particles in the process of synthesis of bio-carbon material together with salts of ferromagnetic materials. The structure, morphology, elemental composition, magnetic properties, and adsorption behaviour of the synthesised bio-carbon materials in an aqueous medium were studied. The adsorption behaviour of the synthesised bio-carbon materials in an aqueous medium towards different dyes (methylene blue and congo red) and copper was investigated. A scheme for a laboratory bench for filtration of magnetic sorbent suspensions and subsequent washing of the filter based on magnetic rods made of permanent ring magnets was developed.
