In terms of application, the project involves the development and implementation of courses on problems of rhetoric of universal and ethno-specific influence in the faculty of Germanic philology and translation of KNLU. The object of research is the modern media discourse, formed as a result of the interaction of languages with the latest means of communication: oral media performances, films, printed and electronic texts. The subject of the study is the media means of action on the audience: universal, typical for discourses in all studied languages, and ethno-specific, used during the influence of languages with different status: national (Ukrainian), international communication (English), post-colonial (Russian), distant neighbors (German ). The goal of the project is to develop the concept of rhetoric of media discourse, designed to recognize methods of universal and ethno-specific influence, formed as a result of the interaction of language with the latest means of communication. The novelty of the project is related to the current strengthening of the influence of modern means of communication on the audience; formation of the latest means and methods of language and media impact on the addressee; intermedia migration of language means and methods of influence; the necessity of forming in the audience strategies for identifying means and methods of direct and hidden influence in order to protect against them.
