M. Vysotsky popup.description2 Study object: forests damaged by fires. Aim of the study: study of the pyrogenic damage peculiarities in Ukrainian forests in different natural zones in order to provide scientific support for forestry measures on mitigating negative impact caused by forest fires. Methodology of the study: methods of comparative ecology, post-event and systems analysis. A landscape fire database has been established. The database contains information on the numbers and areas of fires, with additional information on the landscape type, features, topography, slope exposure, population density, distances from roads, railways and settlements, etc. The risk of forest fires in under climate change has been estimated. Various scenarios of increased fire risks for 2024–2040, 2041–2060, and 2081–2100 have been simulated for the development of long-term regional fire management strategies and plans, as well as for the planning of economic measures to prevent and combat forest fires. The changes in fire regimes in Ukraine in combat situations was analyzed. The number and area of fires in the Ukrainian forestsduring 2023 were assessed and temporal and spatial trends of their occurrence were determined.
